All we need to do is supply our brain with wide variety of information and learn that, as u told in a childlike playful curious way. Because thats makes it fun and fun way makes learned fact permanent and wants more.

Again as you pointed out, Our brain then remains plastic enough to know how to connect dots. Thats all is needed to learn anything with complete understanding like an expert and sometimes it leads to our own little discoveries too !!
